Lola was born and raised in a small town in California named Linden. This is where at the age of five she would play her mom’s records on a small record player in her room and “broadcast” to her audience of dolls. Lola has always known that this was her calling and at the age of 20 her favorite radio station hired her because of her persistence in bugging the owner of that station from the age of 11 til 20.
Lola’s first “big time” gig was here in the great northwest 11 years ago where she worked as the midday host and music director. Lola has a love of community and that showed when she single handedly collected one million six hundred thousand pennies with the help of her listeners. She donated the sixteen thousand dollars in pennies to a great cause “The Albertina Kerr Center”, which has helped abused and neglected children in the Portland community since 1911.
Lola is a mom of a son who is fourteen and a widow – she lost her husband to terminal cancer March of ’09 and has adopted the phrase “You never know how strong you are, until that is the only choice you have”. In her spare time Lola loves to garden, spend time with her son and collect a wide variety of antiques and collectibles.
