To put it simply: This band is NUTS.
Yeah, in a good way, but keep an eye on ‘em nevertheless.
CRAZY.
It’s not a word you’d associate with today’s watered-down, pop-friendly country music. But when Chad Kessner careens around the stage belting out Waylon’s “I’ve Always Been Crazy”, it’s not just a tribute to a fallen outlaw; it’s a testimonial from a man that’s been there and back.
Just how insane are The Concrete Cowboys?
- Crazy enough to enter the prestigious Ponderosa Battle of the Bands as their 1st show ever, and beat out 28 other bands over the course of a month.
- Crazy enough to fly to Nashville six months after forming with a handful of CDs and knock on doors up and down Music Row.
- Crazy enough to attempt and achieve radio airplay on Portland’s KUPL, the biggest country station in the state with a self-produced “demo” recorded in a marble slab warehouse.
- Just certifiable enough to tackle the country music world’s youth-obsessed culture with a line-up that ranges from age 36 to 60.
There ain’t no rookies in this band, but there’s enough frenzied energy in their live show to knock a few sub woofers off the stage, so the first few rows beware: You’re not dealing with normal people here.
Aarun Carter, their fiddle player, is actually fundraising to get her own Documentary. Check it out here.

I feel really bad for Blake Shelton. I have not yet lost a parent, but it can’t be easy. We take LIFE for granted often, and don’t realize how much people mean to us until they’re gone.

The Top 10 countdown list continues with the Top 10 most searched celebrities according to Bing.com. I think Bieber got the win with his little paternity scare last month. Either that or every teenager is Binging him constantly. I think it could be a little of both. Personally, I don’t think I’ve ever searched for any of these…maybe Lady Gaga, just cause she’s Gaga and I needed a dose of weird.
Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood and his 29-year-old girlfriend Kelli Cashiola are engaged, according to People. Thank you so much for your support in the first ever Stuff A Bus! We raised 2,298 toys this year, and hope to more than DOUBLE that amount next Christmas! Toys For Tots is such a great organization, and I was so honored to help them this year. While I understand why you may not have been able to donate, make it a goal to donate one toy next Christmas. Saving a dollar every month will allow you to do that.

Taylor Swift is sporting a new haircut these days. She admits she got it on a “whim” sporting her new straight Bangs vs. her standard curly head of high energy.
Tonight was the first ever Northwest Nights Eating Contest! The Colt Ford Chicken & Biscuits Chow Down for Meet & Greets at the show December 17th. Big ups to Joey Baxter from Beaverton! Check out the video below.
